Bevers Real Estate opened in Chappell Hill, Texas in 1982. Often described as “the worst of times” by Texans from the area, it was not a good year to start selling real estate. Oil went bust and the Texas economy unraveled, leaving in its wake a real estate nightmare. It was hard to sell much of anything with the economy in shambles. My grandparents, Ken & Ann Bevers, made a decision to offset financial difficulties by selling a mix of real estate, Blue Bell ice cream, and sandwiches. Prayer was the main ingredient, along with a lot of hard work.
The prayers gave birth to Bevers Real Estate and Bevers Kitchen. Blue Bell stopped the cars. Many of these hungry travelers became Bevers Real Estate clients and long-time friends. Believing that we cannot live on bread (or Blue Bell) alone, we’ve combined state-of-the-art technology and old-fashioned service (we sit at our computers in jeans and boots) as our real estate recipe for success.
Since the doors opened in 1982, we have seen a lot of changes. We are a family owned business with a long history in the Washington County area, and we plan to be here another 35 years at least! When I purchased the brokerage from my grandparents I told them that I wanted to carry on their example for the next generation. Our goal is to build long-term relationships based on integrity and solid investment advice, and also to contribute to our community in unique ways.
